Our schools will soon come alive with the sounds of children scurrying in the halls, laughing with friends and sharing summer stories. For many, the best part of returning to classes will be the certainty of knowing that healthy breakfasts and lunches await them every day school is in session.

Ensuring low-income children are fed is one of the great services provided by public schools.
But there are gaps.
Too many students leave school on Friday afternoons not knowing where their next meal will come from. They return to households struggling to put food on the table, where three [โ€ฆ]

Action Needed: Show Your Support for Healthy School Meals for All NY Kids

09/04/2022
This school year, New York families face a steep hunger cliff as nationwide waivers allowing free school meals for all students expire, jeopardizing access to school meals for an estimated 726,000 students in nearly 2,000 schools across the state.

Support NYS Environmental Bond Act!

08/29/2022
Fires, floods, drought, intense heat: the condition of our climate is
dire. This November, New Yorkers will have the chance to vote for a bond act to fund solutions. We hope that your organization will join
350 Brooklyn and the many groups across the state that are supporting the passage of the Clean Water, Clean Air, Clean Jobs Environmental Bond Act.

The act would provide funds to expand renewable energy, protect people from deadly heat and flooding, improve water quality, restore wildlife habitat, protect family farms, and create and improve access to parks.

It would support nearly 100,000 jobs and direct at least $1.4 billion to disadvantaged communities that [โ€ฆ]
