Hunger affects people  in every community in New York . Ending hunger means ensuring everyone has reliable access to the healthy food they need. Hunger Action Network of New York State combines grassroots organizing at the local level with federal and state level research, education and advocacy to address the root causes of hunger, including poverty.

Federal nutrition programs work to close the gap between those who have enough to eat and those who don’t. These programs work together to make sure all in need have access to food when they need it, regardless of zip code, age, or time of day.

Too often, however, these programs aren’t efficiently reaching many of the people who need them.

Hunger Action Network strategy focuses on problem-solving, working with local partners to identify and eliminate the barriers that may prevent children from accessing existing food and nutrition education resources.
