A report, released by the Military Family Advocacy Network, broke down the results of a survey of over 5,600 military veterans, active duty members and families found that Hunger is a real problem for military families. About 15 percent of military and veteran family respondents face “food insecurity,” the policy language used to describe people who worry about how they are going to feed their families or afford food. In fact, 23,000 active duty service members live in households that completely rely on SNAP benefits to keep themselves and their families healthy and well fed.
