𝙉𝙔𝙎 𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙁𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙧 𝙎𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙨
Are you interested in a Black farmer-led skillshare series in Rochester NY? This series is designed to help you increase profits through new crop and market development.

Please note that this event is open to NYS Black farmers, growers, and gardeners and registration is required.

Skillshare 1: “All Things Collard Greens: Growing, Harvesting, and Vending with Moss Family Farm” on Friday, October 28th
Skillshare 2: “Farmers Market 101” on Saturday, October 29th
Skillshare 3: “Grow-to-Sell: Profiting from Farm Stands and Non-Traditional Growing Spaces” on Saturday, October 29th

Two meals will be provided along with reimbursements for travel and accommodations.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙖𝙧𝙢 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙞𝙘𝙚 𝘼𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙮 (𝙁𝙎𝘼) 𝙉𝙔𝘾 𝙐𝙧𝙗𝙖𝙣 𝘾𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩𝙮 𝙀𝙭𝙚𝙘𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝘿𝙞𝙧𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧 𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙤𝙥𝙚𝙣 and closes on Friday, October 28th at midnight! This position will lay the groundwork for the new USDA urban office in Brooklyn. The main responsibilities will be outreach and partnership building throughout the city and working with urban producers to assist them in utilizing USDA programs to support urban agricultural production. The federal job application process is a bit different from most others. Applicants should apply for ALL the grades they qualify for (not just the highest), and make sure they complete the evaluation questions, called KSAs.

The nomination period will open on October 21st and run through December 2nd. They are looking for anyone growing an agricultural product, such as vegetables, fruits, honey, mushrooms, or flowers to be voters. Additionally, if growers are commercially selling that product, they can run to serve on the urban county committee.
