Students are in the midst of the Food Justice course with Farmer Yon. They are exploring the fundamentals of food justice and the history of various food justice battles. In this course, students dissect and analyze the fights for racial, economic, and environmental justice and how they impact our work. They now understand how food justice differs from food security and food sovereignty.
Farmer Yon has helped guide students in embodying food justice for nearly every cycle of the Citywide program. Farmer Yon looks forward to introducing this cohort to the Hattie Carthan Community Garden soon, where they can gather for various celebrations [โ€ฆ]
