Happy Holidays from The Food Pantries for the Capital District!

12/06/2023

The Food Pantries for the Capital District is incredibly grateful for our supporters. YOU are the reason we are able to do the work none of us can do alone.

With service numbers up 30% from 2022 and inflation remaining consistent, our pantries are in need of help keeping their shelves stocked this holiday season.

Here are some ways to help if you are able, we know times are difficult for everyone.

See details below on our generous year-end matches, our Fill the Truck challenge, and our Healthy Pantry Initiative.

*many people have already given generously, please remember this is an email blast to our Food Pantries family as a whole.

We triple dog dare you!

If your company is competitive and wants to make a difference for those in need over the holidays, take the challenge and FILL THE TRUCK!

While food drives are wonderful, we can make a $1 stretch to 6.25 lbs of food purchasing through our pantry resources. This allows pantries to get the items they need faster and cheaper. It costs $1600 to fill a truck with 10,000 pounds of food. How many trucks can you fill?

Sign up by Thursday, December 7 to have your company named as a participant, and possibly interviewed, during the live launch on Sunday, December 10 during Giuliana Brunoโ€™s Morning Show on Channel 10.

The competition will start as soon as [โ€ฆ]

Deep in our hearts, we carry the weight of profound grief for all the lives lost to US-backed imperialism in Palestine and globally. Our commitment remains unwavering to fighting for all oppressed peopleโ€™s liberation, freedom, and sovereignty through these troubling moments. We profoundly believe all forms of oppression are interlocking, and our liberation is bound together. We have linked our complete solidarity statement here.
