The brainstorming began at the Electric City Barn when The Schenectady Foundation announced the third round of the Thriving Neighborhoods Challenge, which encourages and empowers Schenectady residents to make the changes they want to see in their community.

Kristi Milligan, director of grants and community programs for the Foundation, was impressed with not just the number of people who came to the kickoff event, but with the quality of the ideas that were already shared.

“This event brought together so many different people; some who have participated in the first two rounds of TNC and some who haven’t,” Milligan said. “Stories were shared, connections were made, and the ideas really started to flow. The buzz in the room was exciting, and we can’t wait to see the ideas start rolling in!”
