Recently in Crop Management, students explored best practices for maintaining crops in NYC’s climate. Students reported the class brought together the practical and spiritual aspects of connecting with the land and made it seem logistically possible to engage with making plans and organizing.

From identifying companion plants at the Good Life Garden in Brooklyn to harvesting from pear trees at Taqwa Community Farm in The Bronx, students had a robust experience envisioning crop plans during the course. We share gratitude for guest speakers, Kofi, Nayelis, Abu Talib, and Quan. Stay tuned for updates next month as students begin preparing for winter!

We are working with IOBY through their 2022 NYC Environmental Justice & Sustainability Match Program to raise funds. So far we have raised over $1,600 and we need your help to meet our goal!

Funds raised will support purchasing supplies for the construction of two high tunnels, one located in the Bronx and the other in Brooklyn. The funds raised help purchase the supplies for these builds. Please share this fundraiser, and consider donating today.
Help us reach our goal of $5,000 by November.
