Jocelyn Germany (she/hers) is the newest addition to the FSNYC team. We are honored to have this passionate individual leading our advocacy work. Jocelyn was born and raised in the unceded Lenapehoking lands of the South Bronx. She is currently a Farm School student for the 2022-2023 cohort and has enjoyed a deep sense of community and spiritual connection. Jocelyn enjoys playing video games, watching movies, learning, hanging out with friends, and dancing.

Our Citywide Learning the Land course is complete. Students heard from guest speakers, Cecilia and Milton, describing colonization’s expansive harmful impacts that are still evident and felt by many across NYC. Together in-person, students walked around Jackson Heights, observing the apparent race and class segregation by street and neighborhood. Seeing how our waterways and waste systems are mismanaged due to settlers’ privatization and acquisitiveness, the cohort will continue learning about water and helpful ways to harness it in the next course, Irrigation.
