In the fast-paced world of logistics and transportation, the demand for efficient and reliable truck and trailer services is ever-growing. As the backbone of the Food Bank, we rely heavily on well-maintained vehicles to keep food moving across our 23 counties. As our fleet grew, it became evident we needed to step up and take control of our fleet in a new way. In October of 2022 we successfully brought on our own mechanic shop using a building already on the property. Equipping the shop with the right tools and diagnostic equipment was a priority, but having the right talented staff was even more important. In the current year we are happy to report success of the shop in many ways: fleet down-time has decreased dramatically, and fuel and time savings from staff no longer having to transport trucks and trailers to offsite shops have been significant. Our team of certified mechanics working in a well-equipped shop delivers swift repairs and minimal disruption to operations, ultimately translating to a remarkable 49% cost savings for the Food Bank in the first half of 2023.

The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York has launched a five-year Strategic Plan. In developing this plan, we revised our mission and vision statements to better align with the goals and objectives we set out to accomplish.
By 2027, the Regional Food Bank, in collaboration with our network partners, will ensure equitable access to the nutritious food required to fully meet the needs of people struggling with hunger in all parts of our service area. This plan will require an investment of time, skills, and resources to fully meet the needs of the food insecure in our area.

The Food Bank offers people an opportunity to provide a special tribute gift to family, friends, or business associates in lieu of giving more traditional gifts. For a donation of $5 per gift, the Food Bank will send a special holiday card or email to the designated recipient notifying them of the special and unique endowment made in their name. You can also order these cards in bulk to be shipped directly to you to personalize with your own holiday greetings before mailing.
