Last week, The Alliance for a Hunger Free New York marched to the NYS Capitol to tell the state what is needed to support frontline community food providers – food pantries and food rescues in each of our neighborhoods.
We hope that the Governor’s budget today will reflect what we’ve been asking for:
-$75 million for Hunger Prevention Nutrition Assistance Program (HPNAP)
-$75 million for Nourish NY
– and to continue direct contracts for both of these programs with ALL types of providers, like food pantries, soup kitchens, food rescues, AND food banks
